Since you made me do it. How about C, Q, E, V?
Aw yeah, here it goes:
C - A pairing you have never liked and probably never will:
What a dauntingly open question! To narrow my choices, I’ll just go with something mainstream like… Rose and the Doctor. I loved their budding friendship, and after all was said and done in Season 1, I could almost ship Rose with Nine… but after the switch to Ten, it just lost me. He got all megalomaniacal, and as a general rule, if two characters are not each other’s mental and/or physical equal, then I cannot ship them. So Rose, being human, could never fit my criteria for pairing with the Doctor, because the less equally matched the parties in question, the less I will be able to ship them.
Q - A ship you’ve abandoned and why:
I tend to binge pairings in rotations, with no real rhyme or reason other than certain fandoms happen to be more active than others at a given time, or maybe I’m just in the mood for certain tropes, but just because a pairing is out of the loop for awhile doesn’t necessarily mean I’ve “abandoned” it. A depressing example of a ship I truly have abandoned would be Syaoran and Sakura. They were my OTP the entire time I was into CCS, but as soon as Tsubasa came on the scene, their characterizations and original relationship dynamic totally disappeared, leaving me entirely unimpassioned by them. I’d only picked up Tsubasa in the first place because that ship was billed as central to the plot, it made me so mad! Luckily, there was soon plenty of homo in there to keep me reading. Thank you, CLAMP!
E - Have you added anything stupid/cracky/hilarious to your fandom, if so, what?
I mean. I have made a few Green Lantern blingees, done some dumb fanart/cosplay… I can’t think of anything too specific, but I often think that me breathing in the same air as other members of my fandoms makes them stupider. I am also a serial ship converter, and feel great guilt about this at times. It is never my intention to change what people ship… U_U
V - Are you one of those fans who can’t watch anything without shipping?
The simple answer is yes – for the most part, if I can’t ship anything in a series, I will not pursue it any further. There have been a few exceptions to this rule over the years, though. Like Mawaru Penguindrum! That one managed to woo me without a single ship.
